employee background check

My husband has to get an employee background check before we can move into the new place, I don’t really understand why as it’s with the same people we rent our currnet place from but they say it has to be done for legal reasons.
They always make me nervous even though I know that nothing bad will flag up on it.
Hopefully it will be over soon and we can get moving
