How annoying!

May 26th, 2009

I was singing my website hosting providers praises just a few weeks ago, I knew I was going to jinx things by doing so because that is just the sort of typical luck I have.

Actually they are still pretty good overall, I don’t think I will be searching for the best budget hosting to replace them with any time soon, it is just this one incident that has caused me problems but in general the service is great.

Someone complained that I was spamming them, even though they subscribed themselves to the list and could remove themselves at any time. It took many many many emails to my host to get across the fact that the person who complained was an idiot and I had done nothing wrong, but I think we got there in the end. The script I use complies with their anti spam policy so they really should have just told the complainer to ‘get lost’ in the first place and not wasting mine and their time!

I did just have a look at the best Unix hosting as rated by WebHostingRating.com though, just so if I do decide to move I have a head start :)

Happy for my friend

My friend from back home has just decided it’s time to take her fledgling business to the next step and get official office space for herself and her two employees to use, she is super excited and I am just as excited for her. It’s a big step and it goes to show that what she s doing is working well – we’ve been looking at Office Space Rental sites together to try and find the ideal solution for her, obviously the space needs to be in a good location but also needs to be a competitive price. It’s not an easy task, but we’ll get there :)

That gives me an idea!

snookerWatching The UK version of The Apprentice tonight gave me an idea for what to get for my lovely husband for his birthday in July, it’s his 30th birthday so I want to get him something great. Baseball memorabilia could well be the way to go, he’s big into several sports including baseball but mainly he is interested in snooker — he’s been playing since he was a child, he was a semi professional for a few years and still plays whenever he can now, I often feel like a snooker widow!

Seeing the candidates run around on their 2012 London Olympics based task tonight is what made me think of it.

They have lots of great memorabilia, gifts and collectible at Authentic Sports Collectibles, a site recommended to me by an online friend a while ago when I mentioned this idea. So that is where I am beginning my search.

All of their products are hand signed and importantly come with an authentication note, so you know you are buying the real deal if you are opting for a signed piece — It’s amazing how many people don’t do any research and just throw away good money on fakes!

I will get him some other stuff as well, but this is a good start :)
