I remember coming home from school one day as a young teenager to find the kitchen flooded! There was some serious water damage afterwards that took a lot of time, effort and money to fix!

The washing machine had been left on and something had gone wrong while no one was home, so it completely emptied out onto the kitchen floor. I panicked and didn’t know what to do at all, I tired calling my mom, dad and brother but typical luck no of them were answering so in the end I tried to use the vacuum cleaner to try suck some of it up – thankfully my older brother did come home soon after and then he took over.

Living in the UK we never had much of a termite issue, I had never seen termite swarms in my life until I moved to Australia — and now I live in the USA I know it’s something I will run into quite often, I hear there are winged termites around here and I want to embrace every thing American, including the pesky little wildlife!

I was tasked with booking a luxury hotel a few days ago for my boss. It was actually a lot of fun because the budget was high and it meant that I got to do something I would never usually get to do — for my own personal holidays the budget is about the tenth of the size hehe.

I looked into several gorgeous Four Seasons Hotels and settled on the Four Seasons Hualalai in beautiful Hawaii. What an absolute dream it looks.

I booked the hotel through WhatAHotel.com — they are a Lorraine Travel owned website so are a well known and respected name in the travel industry and one of only a small amount of Four Seasons preferred partners! By booking through them you also get a whole bunch of extra perks.

So I told my boss about the hotel I had chosen and showed him the link including several reviews from people who have stayed there and he feel in love with it just as much as I did do. He was very happy with me, not happy enough to tell me to book myself a place also unfortunately hehe.

But I definitely scored brownie points and I begrudgingly hope he has a great time
