Dial A Dealer

May 29th, 2009

I don’t spend all of my time watching, talking about and sharing reality tv shows from around the world you know — only about 90% of it ;)

One thing that I like to fill that other 10% with is online gambling, as I have mentioned before I enjoy hanging out in Casinos and the mindless fun of Bingo is my favourite form. I rarely even have to actually spend any money doing it because I use cashback offers and great deposit bonuses to ensure that. I also know when to cut my losses and run — I have been doing it for around three years now and have never found myself getting out of control with it :)

Here’s an interesting concept I came across, my partners best friend is getting married in two weeks and he’s currently arranging the stag do — one of the suggestions was to have a poker/casino night where someone could ‘play’ dealer and I said that I bet you could actually find and hire someone to do that these days and he seemed interested.

So I searched for Casino Hire and came across Dial a Dealer which does exactly what it says on the tin — it allows you to find and hire a dealer to come out to your event and do their thing.

They offer services for both individual events and even longer term professional events. The site is really simple to use, you just need to select what you are looking for an you’ll be presented with a directory of available dealers who you can then sort by location, rate, age, rating and so much more.

I have handed the URL over to the best man now, as I refuse to organise an event I am not invited to, use mere women aren’t allowed to attend apparently. Pfft :P

Luxurious Wheels

May 28th, 2009

There is a reason that you always see contestants on reality shows driving around in limousines. They always seem to either get driven to their locations in them or win trips in them as part of prizes.

You can rent luxury SUVs and Washington DC airport transportation and lots of other luxurious wheels at AmericaTransportation.com.

Think about how many times you have seen the girls from Next Top Model riding around in one. Think about how often the guys from Hell’s Kitchen get taken off in one when they win the weekly challenge. Even the people who get fired on The Apprentice are driven away in one while they do their piece to camera each week.

There’s something about a limousine that gives this air of money and sophistication — why is that? It’s only a car and they are relatively cheap to rent these days, any one can save their pennies for a little while and book one to take them on their hen party or just a general night on the tiles or something.

Still, I would love to be driven around in one…just once…a pink one preferably but hey I wouldn’t be picky, I’d take a black one also.

Lights, Camera, Action!

May 28th, 2009

Next room on our to decorate list is the bedroom, I am very excited about this because we desperately need a new bed but also because I really think that the bedroom is the most important room in the house.

It’s the ultimate place to relax and getting a good nights sleep is vital, I want the bedroom to be my sanctuary away from the stresses of life!

The lighting in the bedroom is crucial because you need good bright lighting for when you are getting dressed but also soft and romantic lighting for relaxing and spending time with each other. So we will either have to get lighting that can change in that way or come up with a different solution involving two sets of lights — which would be rather a hassle I think.

I am hoping to convince my husband to get some minka lavery lighting as it is super beautiful and effective, but is perhaps a little out of our price range, especially the ceiling is so high in our bedroom we will need to purchase Light Lifts so we can adjust it easily. We’ll also be needing
Outdoor Fans with Lights for use on the balcony.

How about WOW?

May 28th, 2009

My dad is a pain in the bottom, he is constantly asking for me to get him a game to play on his PC, he likes realistic racing games and first person shoot em ups — but every game I have got him has had something ‘wrong’ with it, grr. I am determined to find one he likes though.

You can buy wow game cards at Buy mmo accounts, a site that has been around for almost two years now — so it looks like that is where I am headed next in my quest!

Beep Beep Beep

May 27th, 2009

I was out shopping a few days ago and almost got run over by someone in a wheelchair after she’d got out of her Toyota Sienna wheelchair van, I was furious because the woman in the chair it had absolutely no regard for any one — I get that it must be difficult to get around and probably frustrating when people don’t help out by clearing the way a little — but that doesn’t mean she gets to just ride it as fast as she wants where ever she wants — that thing was big and would have hurt a lot if she had actually caught me and she was only an inch or so away. I would have had a serious word with her, if she’d slowed down enough that by the time I got my composure back she hadn’t been out of sight!

Thankfully not every one is like that. My friend needs a scooter sometimes and he’s always very considerate of others :)

MobilityWorks.com sell handicap accessible vans both large and small across America, they are one of the leading providers in the country with many years experience behind them. So if you need a van either for yourself, a loved one or any one else then visit their site and check out what they have to offer.

Sensitive Skin

May 27th, 2009

I just spend some time looking around for some organic skin care products to try and found some nice ones at Simple Scents, I have very sensitive skin — always have had, but recently I find myself going natural and organic more and more.

I always skin test every thing new I use, that is try a little and then wait 24 hours to make sure there are no untoward reactions, after I had a major allergic reaction that left me in hospital in 2005 this is now a no brainer for me.

It might be a bit of a pain having to wait before I can try something new, but that is definitely better than having to suffer through what I did again, it was truly awful and took my skin/hair months and months to fully recover!

I have found that out of every 10 products I test I have a reaction, usually only minor, to about 3 — however since I have been trying organic and natural products I have had no reactions to any of them, not a single one out of probably 30 now!

This is awesome for me, I don’t know why I didn’t think about trying this before…seems rather obvious that I would get on better with natural products in retrospect :)

Shopping Day

May 27th, 2009

I have some shopping to do online today, I need some new underwear for myself — basics rather than any thing fancy though unfortunately, I love buying nice underwear! I also need to get my brother something for his birthday, my husband something for our anniversary and I am going to get my dad some Recycled Golf Balls for father’s day as that’s what he has asked for!

How annoying!

May 26th, 2009

I was singing my website hosting providers praises just a few weeks ago, I knew I was going to jinx things by doing so because that is just the sort of typical luck I have.

Actually they are still pretty good overall, I don’t think I will be searching for the best budget hosting to replace them with any time soon, it is just this one incident that has caused me problems but in general the service is great.

Someone complained that I was spamming them, even though they subscribed themselves to the list and could remove themselves at any time. It took many many many emails to my host to get across the fact that the person who complained was an idiot and I had done nothing wrong, but I think we got there in the end. The script I use complies with their anti spam policy so they really should have just told the complainer to ‘get lost’ in the first place and not wasting mine and their time!

I did just have a look at the best Unix hosting as rated by WebHostingRating.com though, just so if I do decide to move I have a head start :)

Happy for my friend

May 26th, 2009

My friend from back home has just decided it’s time to take her fledgling business to the next step and get official office space for herself and her two employees to use, she is super excited and I am just as excited for her. It’s a big step and it goes to show that what she s doing is working well – we’ve been looking at Office Space Rental sites together to try and find the ideal solution for her, obviously the space needs to be in a good location but also needs to be a competitive price. It’s not an easy task, but we’ll get there :)

That gives me an idea!

May 26th, 2009

snookerWatching The UK version of The Apprentice tonight gave me an idea for what to get for my lovely husband for his birthday in July, it’s his 30th birthday so I want to get him something great. Baseball memorabilia could well be the way to go, he’s big into several sports including baseball but mainly he is interested in snooker — he’s been playing since he was a child, he was a semi professional for a few years and still plays whenever he can now, I often feel like a snooker widow!

Seeing the candidates run around on their 2012 London Olympics based task tonight is what made me think of it.

They have lots of great memorabilia, gifts and collectible at Authentic Sports Collectibles, a site recommended to me by an online friend a while ago when I mentioned this idea. So that is where I am beginning my search.

All of their products are hand signed and importantly come with an authentication note, so you know you are buying the real deal if you are opting for a signed piece — It’s amazing how many people don’t do any research and just throw away good money on fakes!

I will get him some other stuff as well, but this is a good start :)
