This time next year…

February 25th, 2009

…I will be getting married!

Is it crazy that I am getting married one year from today — but still don’t have a single plan made?

I don’t even know if we will be getting married here in the USA or back in the UK!

All I know is that I don’t want a big wedding. You know how every little girl dreams of this day and has all these ideas and wants to be like a princess? Well yeah, not me. I have hardly given it much thought and I hate being the center of attention — so the more low key the better.

The only typical girlie thing I know I do want is the big beautiful dress.

I am going to start getting organised in the new year :)

TV I Love…

February 17th, 2009

…Reality TV and the soaps are my favourites and I watch shows from all over the world. It comes from having grown up in the UK, lived in Australia for a few years and now living in America.

I love Big Brother, Survivor, The Amazing Race, The Biggest Loser, Top Chef, Project Runway, Next Top Model and The X Factor to name but a few.

I also love Lost, Dexter, Heroes, 24, Eastenders, Dancing On Ice, Neighbours and Wipeout!

Getting the hang of this

February 15th, 2009

I think I am getting the hang of this whole blogging thing, when I first started a few months ago I actually found it really hard to think of things to write about and I would spend days and days thinking about it before hand — now I feel like I can just write off the cuff and little things I wouldn’t have dreamed would be something worth blogging about now make for interesting stories.

I am still not at the same level as a lot of bloggers I see who blog a few times a day, but I think I am getting there :)

Weight loss journey

February 11th, 2009

This time two years ago I weighed more than I ever have before in my adult life, I was a whopping 15 stone and 10 pounds, that’s 220 pounds — and I am only 5 foot tall — I was biiiiig.

I am currently weighing in at 10 stone 9 pounds and am well on my way to getting to my goal weight.

I have lost the weight the slow and sensible way. I work out 5 days a week and consume around 1400 calories a day. It can be really frustrating losing it this way, because I can go literally months without losing any thing — but I also think it’s the most sensible way to do it because it’s a sustainable life style change. I have no fears that I will suddenly come off the ‘diet’ and pile all the weight back on.

I give myself mini goals as they help keep me motivated, my next mini goal is 10 stone 5 pounds — this will put me in the same stone as I was 5 years ago when the husband and I got together and it will mean I have lost a total of 75 pounds.

I am unsure of my main goal weight — according to statistics my ideal weight is around 7 stone 7 pounds but that seems insane to me, I think I will be happy at about 9 stone 9 pounds but I guess I just have to get there and wait and see how I feel.

Entrecard

February 6th, 2009

I just joined Entrecard because my friend told me it’s a great way to get traffic coming through here — hopefully people will start to read and comment on my ever so funny posts now, a girl can hope.

Though apparently it takes a bit of effort, you have to ‘drop’ cards on other people and advertise your site on relevant widgets — it’s all a bit foreign to me at the moment but I am sure I will get the hang of it :)

Music I love

February 1st, 2009

When I was younger I was an Indie chick, growing up in 90s UK it was hard not to be — Blur, Oasis, Ocean Colour Scene, Ash, Travis etc were all my favourite bands.

When I was in Australia I grew to love house music and The Potbelleez became one of my favourite bands.

Now I am pusing 30 I still love my indie and house/dance…but I also love just cheesy chart pop, the sort of music I would have scoffed at as ‘sad’ 10 years ago hehe.
